I have owned, ridden and restored motorcycles now for over 50 years. It is an activity I love and enjoy. Thus, in spite of increasing arthritis I do not intend to give it up.
I found this video clip a poignant and inspiring commentary, not merely about motorcycling, but on the general battle against life’s little difficulties as we approach old age.

Wonderful. Very much in the spirit of the Ulysses Motorcycle Club here in the Antipodes.
Fantastic! A wonderful way to start my day. (I wish I had a motorcycle)
Himself and I laughed aloud watching your video link.
I was surprised that the participants were (I assume) Taiwanese; your clip is very much in keeping with the Japanese ability to turn stoicism into concise works of art. I particularly enjoyed the fairly recent Japanese movie Departures and can do no better than quote the admirably brief plot summary provided by the IMDB: A newly unemployed cellist takes a job preparing the dead for funerals. Moving and very funny.
P'Pete:
Yes, I know of the "Ulysses", since my daughter lives in W. Australia and I have mailed to me, at great expense, that magnificent Australian magazine "Australian Roadrider" (in fact the clip was mentioned on their website).
Art:
Well, you could always get one - I am living proof that they keep you young!
Vita:
I thought you both might enjoy it.
BB:
Apt comparison - it had not occured to me.
Rock on Pa. xx
Way to go! Great clip. Enjoy your wild rides.
Kay:
Thanks Kay!
Great video - inspiring! Thank you.
That is wonderful. Truely inspiring.
I hope you are keeping well, it has been a long time!

Hey! You're back! I thought that you had forsaken the canal life and your blog.
You shall forthwith be re-instated amongst my "favourites".
Nice to hear from you again.
I am back! Life got in the way of blogging for a while but we couldn't bring ourselves to leave the home we love so much.
Reinstated amongst the favourites? I'm honoured :)

Hi Avus, thanks for dropping in. The Curate After Dark is still at http://thecurateafterdark.blogspot.com/
It just hasn't been touch for a while.
Thanks, Lee - I was getting withdrawal symptoms!
Did I know about the motorcycles, I can not remember....last I remember you were restoring a bike, but hey, they are the same, one just goes faster. haha My Dad was an avid biker, (motorcycles) from as far back as I remember he was always on a cycle. He had a long line of different cycles, Indian, BMW, Harley, Honda, etc. I grew up on them, to this day, age 60 I still maintain my motorcycle license, just in case, haha Really Really, enjoyed this......
Himself has his Lemon for sale because he says after 10 miles his knee hurts too much, but it's not like he's given up riding, as he has 10 or 12 other bikes he can ride. That Moto Guzzi teases him to go faster than he should, anyway, so I'm only sad it's going because it's so beautiful.
I still haven't read Country Boy.
