Dear Bloggers All - A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS
Here is my favourite group singing my favourite traditional carol Just for you! With all my very best wishes for a Happy Christmas and a peaceful and healthy New Year.
That really was very beautiful. Thankyou. I found a latin to English conversion site but the download was 6.1mb so perhaps you could just tell me what the word Gaudete means and I'll guess the rest.
Helen - if you click on the "traditional carol" link on the posting you can see the whole history of the song and its translation (this, in fact, is the first time in 30 years of hearing it, that I have actually looked up the full English version!) Gaudete = Rejoice!
I've enjoyed my visit .... followed the Steeleye Span link - I've heard of them certainly, but haven't followed their music and/or history at all. Loved the carol. Thanks for dropping by my blog.
A retired local government Road Safety Officer, I am a widower who had been married for 63 years. My constant companion now is a Jack Russell bitch. I have 3 children (all long since flown the nest),6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Daughter lives in Western Australia.
