You know antipodeans prefer vegemite don't you? And that at one stage it was being confiscated from ozzy and kiwi luggage at airports because it contained some ingredient that goes into making bombs!
(Shhh - I actually prefer marmite to vegemite.)
I can't see them doing a Foster's Vegemite...hang on, that is exactly what they use!
Not quite sure I can cope with this idea...
I've found the passion for Marmite often only really takes off when one leaves the shores of old England, mine certainly did!

Well you guys must explain what Marmite is to someone who is totally ignorant on the subject. Guinness flavored? hmmmmmmm Yeast free......beer flavored, yet yeast free, marmite. I haven't a clue, do you eat it, drink it or pour it on pancakes? haha

Lee - Can you get XXXX Vegemite?
L - What do the French think of it? After all we have given it a French name.
V - You may well find some in the US in a specialist store (see my latest post)
N - See latest post - I guess it would be good on savoury pancakes.
I thought it was associated with the Carlton Brewery in Melbourne but no reason not to use XXXX (Queensland beer, for htose who don't know).
Oh my god, so it's true. Someone told me about this and I thought it was a joke!!! Great way to use up brewery bi-products, eh?

Hey Avus, I found Marmite for sale on Ebay, I am going to buy a jar, to find out what it tastes like..... :)
Nothing like an "experience", Nea! Spread it (thinly) on buttered toast. Also good as a flavourer in cheese sandwiches.
