No, HHnB, we did not walk along to Trebarwith, but did the Rocky Valley walk and nearly lost the dog. He decided to go into the stream at the bridge (see link), but was then swept down into the narrow, steep cleft by the torrent (had a lot of rain). He ended up in a whirlpool area and could not get back because of the current and rock cliffs either side too steep for him to get out. He is getting on and his back hips are going (bit like the bloke he lives with) so he did not have a lot of purchase. Anyway, I was about to strip off and go in after him when he finally managed it. Tired, frightened, chastened and very bedraggled!
After that we decided we deserved a large cream tea!

Welcome back! It sounds a lovely trip. Especially the cream tea!
I think you have the most gorgeous of dog pictures there, and I am so glad he made it out of the stream. Those whirlpools are so dangerous! Poor thing. Have you seen any Viking reinactors? Did you enjoy your trip all the more for having missed out on the last one?
Sigh!
Glad the hound is ok...what larks Pip, what larks!
What a dreadful adventure for your faithful old companion. But the cream tea sounds yummy.
Glad you're back safe and sound, dog too!
Poor old Sabre, still, cream teas, elephant rock. Beautiful

Sounds divine. Summer. sigh
I have nightmares about that kind of thing happening to the dog!
I hope you gave him a bit of scone, don't they look nice!
Reading and drinking booze in the van sounds nice; I remember hols like that, only instead of booze we had Scrabble. Booze sounds better.

Thank you all for the good wishes. Of course, I was only pretending to be in trouble in the water. Thoroughly enjoyed it really. At my age dignity does not allow one to let the side down you know.
Those scone things are OK, but I much prefer the meaty stuff that he brings back in doggy bags from his restaurant visits! (I have managed to get him fairly well trained over the years).
All for now - these keyboard things are hell with large paws!
Hi Avus, I am still traveling, but found an opportunity to use a computer.
Oh my what a story, that must have been scarey for the both you and your dog. I am so glad that he was able to get out by himself......not a pretty picture seeing the both of you caught up in a whirlpool.......
I could go for one of the scones right now......they look good.
I won't be back on my own computer for a few more days, maybe a week. I am sending Ana home on a plane Friday, and then I won't be that worried about when we return. She needs to get back to work on the 28th. I had my birthday while on this trip....I celebrated with a dish of Flan. haha
What lovely country side, reminds me of something right out of a sotry book........
story book.....haha
