haha......I bought some, did I tell you, I made some toast, buttered it and spread on some marmite.......and took a bite. I decided that it is probably an acquired taste....haha. I will stick to honey.....

There's something so cute, romantic and homely about that - so not-red-roses-and-hearts: I like it!

Have just finished the pot of Guiness Marmite...tasted just the same as the ordinary stuff!

Message to Nea.....I hope you only put the tiniest dab of Marmite on yr toast! You DO NOT spread it on thickly!

There'll always be a marketing man! Especially around holiday time.

Nea:
Backing up HHnB - one does not "spread" Marmite! Just the smallest bit on the knife, scraped over the butter with the butter showing through. If you laid it on any thicker it would be overpowering!
HHnB and Granny:
I agree on the "marketing man". We had some of the Guiness variety and it seemed no different to normal (Shall not bother with the champaigne variety)

Avus, HHnB, haha, chuckle, Marmite needs to come with instructions......oh yes, I put on a nice big helping and spread it thick as you would molasses on pancakes. Or the way my grandmother would have spread molasses on pancakes.........to make a sad story shorter, overpowering was exactly what I was thinking. I now have a jar that will be a 10 year supply for me.....haha

And just about the time I bought it, the Dr. told me that I needed to stay away from things with yeast in them......haha

OMG! "Spread as thick as molasses". It must have put you off for good = perhaps a good thing if you should be denied yeast, though.
