HALLELUJAH!

About this time, on the first Christmas night angels were supposed to have sung "Hallelujah" to flock-watching shepherds.

Lately we have been discussing hymn-singing and Leonard Cohen (but not at the same time) at the
TONE DEAF blog of Lorenzo da Ponte.

Thus my reason for my Christmas present to you

HAPPY CHRISTMAS
AND A PEACEFUL 2012 TO YOU

Have just been listening to Handel's version, I'll come back to this when I feel like weeping! There was a good radio programme about the song a while back, all the changes and versions it's been through.

Happy Christmas, Avus dear.

I shall sit and watch and listen to this tonight. At the moment I have Loreena McKennitt on ( Mask and Mirror).

Happy Christmas Pa and Ma. Wishing you a 'Perfec' New Year in 2012. See you then.
Love sxx

"Feel like weeping", eh? Some of the old '70s Leonard could do that but I actually find this strangely exultant.

Happy Christmas to you and Tom

I just read your comment on Isabelle's blog, where she talked about leaving home and country... and I have to say I was so impressed by what you said.
Your daughter is so lucky... but you are lucky too. I could feel the love you have as a family, even over the miles, and it warmed my heart.

Thank you for taking the trouble to visit here and comment on our discussion over on Isabelle's blog.

Yes we are very lucky with our daughter. We are still waiting for her to go through the "teenage tantrum" stage, which should have surfaced long ago. (I will spare her blushes by not revealing just how long ago that was!)
