ALL BETTER!
My SAAB car was in the wars before Christmas. The insurance assessor was going to write it off, but changed his mind and allowed the repair.
BEFORE
4 WEEKS AND NEARLY £5,000 LATER
Researching the internet I see that this model (2002) is now valued at £4,500 and the garage tells me that the insurance assessor wishes he had given me the money!
The SAAB is risen again! Now you're fully equipped to go down to the marshes and contemplate fate with all the miserable dedication of a true Wallendar.
BB: Apt! I enjoyed (?) the Wallender series on TV (but have not tried the books). The essence of misery, which sits well with one who reads Tennyson's "In Memoriam" for pleasure! (Prefer a SAAB to Wallender's Volvo tho')
I watched the 2 episodes of the original Wallendar series with subtitles and felt so depressed I gave up, although it was very fine acting. Tried the Brannagh series and felt the same, wasn't so keen on his acting. I understand the books are good.
A retired local government Road Safety Officer, I am a widower who had been married for 63 years. My constant companion now is a Jack Russell bitch. I have 3 children (all long since flown the nest),6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Daughter lives in Western Australia.

Well, it's nice and shiny anyway!
It looks as good as new.
I look forward to seeing it SOON!

Hey thanks for popping by the blog,
yes Baxter is the name, changed from "Bilbo" which was his name when he was in rescue care.
Far far better and much more majestic for a dog. I hope yours was a majestic dog too.
Ouch....but they did a very nice job of repair.....that is a lot of money though,
My daughter got in a fender bender, but think we are just going to leave it alone....would cost more to fix than the car is worth.
Wow, does that reflect how much bodyworks places charge then?! But it is beautfully shiny and make-do-and-mend is very satisfying.
Someone in the Radio Times described Wallender as 'Midsomer Murders meets Ingmar Bergman'!
Lucy:
Loved that Radio Times comparison!
Oh well, never mind. I'm sure it all worked out as it was meant to. It's looking good to me!
Photos has words to explain the whole story. These photos did the same.
